The firm is seeking an experienced Development Manager to join its Texas team, working from our Round Rock office.

The role of the Development Manager is to help develop and execute the strategic plan for an assigned region. The Development Manager will work closely with a team of outside consultants including architects, engineers, attorneys, and other development specialists along with other Mark IV leadership, property managers, accountants, and analysts to execute the business plan for the region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Collaborate with Senior Vice President and Vice President on the development and execution of regional strategy.
  • Oversee and direct development projects from conception to completion, including construction of new buildings, capital expenditure projects, and tenant improvements.
  • Collaborate with Vice President to select architects, engineers, contractors, and other consultants required for the project, including reviewing proposals, negotiating terms of agreements and drafting contracts.
  • Manage architects, engineers, brokers, marketing and branding consultants, and other development related consultants.
  • Create budgets and construction calendars and manage development progress to ensure all projects are completed on time and on budget.
  • Interface with Mark IV Capital's accounting department to manage all accounting aspects of assigned development projects, including managing pay applications in a timely manner.
  • Support the VP in the leasing process, including interfacing with brokers and assisting with evaluating credit worthiness of prospective tenants.
  • Support the VP in loan compliance and property level financing, interfacing with VP Capital Markets and CFO as needed.
  • Support the VP in maintaining relationships with real estate brokers and other third parties.
  • Collaborating on the creation and presentation of annual budgets for development projects in the assigned region.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to the region's leadership.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in business, real estate, finance, economics, accounting, construction management, architecture, engineering or related field
  • Master's degree with an emphasis in architecture, development, urban planning, business, finance, economics or accounting a plus. xhyhwjd
  • Proficiency in Office 365 applications, with an emphasis in Excel, PowerPoint and other reasonable software applicable to position and organizational needs

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Relevant commercial real estate development and construction experience
  • Advanced knowledge of development management processes, means, regulations, methods, and quality standards
  • Ability to conceptualize proposed projects and determine highest and best use of land/sites based on market demand, market rents, development costs, capital markets conditions, and investor demand.
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills; capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
